Its climate ranges from extremely dry, desert-like conditions in the northwest to tropical monsoon in the southeast, and it has the greatest contrast in temperature of any country in the world. China is reputed as the oldest continuous civilization in the world and is known as the "Land of Silk". Chinese are known to the world for their politeness, good manners and their hard work.
