It is Father’s Day as I write this blog and I want to say to any men who may be reading:
To you who have respected the women in your life treating them with dignity rather than as objects for your pleasure
To you who have refused to participate in any part of the sex industry but stood firm against the tide of what some define as normal manhood
To you who changed TV channels, avoided websites, walked down different streets, turned away from jokes, movies, conversations and encounters that degrade women rather than value them
To you who have been an example for your sons and daughters, your friends, co-workers and neighbors
Thank You.
If only more men were like you
sex trafficking could end
2 million women and children would not be exploited this year
The brothel doors would fly open and the prisoners would be freed
If only more men were like you
the beatings and brutality would end
the destruction of body and spirit would cease
the cries of the tortured would be turned into songs of hope
If only more men were like you
every man’s daughter could be safe
If only there were more men like you!
