There is an old Haitian proverb that says, “Many hands make the load light.” The Haiti Design Co-op believes that when the designer, maker, and consumer work together, life’s load is lightened and a positive lasting impact can be made. This product comes from this artisan-focused social enterprise based in Port au Prince, Haiti. Through skill training and job creation, the artisans are given the opportunity to earn a living wage that is otherwise unavailable to them, while also showcasing the unique and high-quality products Haiti has to offer.
