Description
Teze means “new” in Azeri. Based in the Republic of Georgia, Teze collaborates with Azeri women to strengthen skills the women already have (such as knitting and sewing) and teach new skills. As much as possible, they reuse resources from the community to make new creations that will bless you, your family and friends. Your purchase helps the artisans earn wages that offer new life: daily essentials for their families and extras such as new furniture or money for extra curricular school activities for their children. Instead of spending 10 hours a day in a factory, working for Teze Handcrafts allows each lady to work primarily from home so that she can care for her family at the same time. It also means women have employment year round compared to the seasonal agriculture work that can only be found in the summer.
